Victor Harris and Skyla Edwards believe in expanding options and opportunities for students and parents alike. Whether it’s providing more access to career and technical education programs, promoting school choice through Empowerment Scholarship Accounts (ESAs), or creating new pathways for college and career readiness, their plan focuses on helping students from all backgrounds find success in the modern economy. All children should have excellent access to education options regardless of income or zip code.

3. Increase Teacher Pay

Arizona’s teachers are the backbone of our education system, and it’s time they were compensated fairly for their work. Victor and Skyla support increasing teacher pay to ensure that we can attract and retain the best educators in the state. Better pay will reduce turnover, improve teacher morale, and ultimately lead to better outcomes for our students. We can do this without raising taxes by passing the #PayTeachersFirst plan which would redirect new funds from our state land trust directly to teacher pay.

4. Increase Per-Pupil Public Funding

Contrary to misconceptions, ESAs not only provide more choice for families, but they also help increase funding for Arizona’s public schools. When a student utilizes an ESA, roughly $7,000 is kicked back into the public system, boosting per-pupil funding statewide. Victor and Skyla see ESAs as a win-win—providing families with the flexibility they need while ensuring that public schools are better funded.
